Casa Delfino is located in the walled Old Venetian Town of Chania; only a few moments from the waterfront with its chic restaurants, shops, and cafes. Most of the main attractions are easily accessible on foot. The closest organized beach (Nea Chora) is only a 10-minute walk from our front door. Casa Delfino also makes an ideal base from which to explore the gorgeous beaches, mountain villages, and hiking trails of Western Crete. It is 17 km from Chania airport and 7 km from the port of Souda.
Take the road to Chania city centre. Drive along Eleftheriou Venizelou Street, which leads you to the Municipal Market. At the traffic lights, continue straight onto Chatzimichali Giannari Street, which soon becomes Skalidi Street. Turn right onto Piraeus Street. You will see a large sign for Carrefour and Parking.
Continue to the end of Piraeus Street until you see the sea. Turn right and drive 50 metres until you reach the free parking lot at Talos Square. This is the nearest car park to Casa Delfino. After you have parked, walk about 80 metres up Theotokopoulou Street, until you see the sign for Casa Delfino on your left.
Drive west on the National Road. Exit at Mournies - G. Hospital - Chania, turning right towards Chania's city centre. You will pass two supermarkets, Lidl and Carrefour. Continue driving for about 1km until you reach the Municipal Market (a cross-shaped building on the map).

Samaria Gorge (16 km) is one of the longest and most impressive gorges in Europe. The trail ends at Agia Roumeli, a quaint fishing village on Crete’s southern coast, accessible only by boat. 5. Cretan villages & countryside
Driving towards the Akrotiri peninsula, you will visit the monastery of Agia Triada Tzagarolon. It was built on the 17th century, with a majestic cruciform church; it is set on a wonderfully overgrown landscape of olive groves and cypress trees. Continuing your drive towards the province of Apokoronas, you will stop at the archeological sight of Aptera, set on an impressive position with great vistas.
You will explore the ruins of an ancient city, before you stop to a tiny village where you can enjoy refreshments at a typical “kafeneion”. Then you will go further inland and you will visit the workshop of a local well-known ceramist. You will have a delicious Cretan meal at a family-run tavern overlooking the valley and the sea beyond.
